Terms
These terms cover the public Sightline website. If your college has signed an agreement with Sightline, that agreement is the contract for the application, and it controls wherever these terms say something different.
The website
You may browse this site and request a walkthrough. Send information that is accurate, and use the site only for a lawful purpose. Do not attempt to break, probe, or overload it, and do not try to reach an institution's workspace without permission.
Figures on this site that are labeled as a sample campus are illustrative. They are not your institution's numbers and they are not a promise of a result.
How we handle information is described in the privacy policy.
The product
Sightline is financial planning software for colleges. It connects faculty, courses, students, and the budget so an institution can see what programs cost and earn, and test what changes.
Access to an institution's workspace is limited to people that institution invites. Its administrators decide who can see the data. Signing in, inviting users, fees, and the term of service are set in the customer agreement, not on this page.
Institution data
The institution owns the data it provides, including education records. Sightline uses that data to provide the service and for Sightline's own analysis, as the customer agreement allows. Sightline does not sell it, and does not give one institution's data to another institution.
Sightline is a planning model. It does not tell an institution what to cut, and it is not an audit, a legal opinion, or a substitute for the institution's own finance, research, or counsel teams. Results depend on the data the institution provides.
Our property and yours
Sightline owns the software, the site, and the methods behind the model. The institution keeps its data and the work product prepared for it under the customer agreement. Do not copy the product, resell access, or remove markings that identify Sightline.
Disclaimers
The website is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Sightline disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Warranties for the application, if any, are in the customer agreement.
To the extent the law allows, Sightline is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from use of this website. Liability for the application is set in the customer agreement. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date on this page will change when we do. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the updated terms. Changes to a customer agreement follow that agreement.
